CALL FOR PROPOSALS 2018-2020 ODYSSÉE SAINT-LAURENT – RQM
Professor Claude Comtois receives grant from the Odyssée Saint-Laurent program. 

Professor Claude Comtois and a team of researchers have received grant to study innovations Quebec maritime industry.

The research project proposal « Innovations dans l’industrie maritime au Québec » presented by Claude Comtois was selected to receive grant from Odyssée Saint-Laurent program.
The proposal provided is innovative, meets the research program strategy and correctly interprets its objectives.
The study conducted will ensure a dynamic and interactive link between the research actors and the users to promote the transfer, integration, appropriation of technologies and knowledge, and the use of evidence and participatory methods in decision-making mechanisms.

Principal investigator :
Claude COMTOIS,  Professor at the department of geography at Université de Montréal. His teaching and research deal with transportation systems, in particular maritime transportation and ports.
At Quebec Maritime Network (RQM), he is Director of the theme Sustainable and intelligent shipping.
As a member of KHEOPS’s scientific committee, Claude Comtois is involved in the consortium’ scientific activities.

Co-investigators :
Stéphanie BLEAU,  Co-coordinator Tourism and Northern Environment at Ouranos. She holds a Master’s in water sciences and her expertise is on vulnerabilities, impacts and adaptation in a context of climate change.

Julie CARRIÈRE,  Engineer and Director of INREST, Institut Nordique de Recherche en Environnement et en Santé au Travail. She is recognized as a specialist in water quality analysis and impact evaluation on ecosystems from industrial wastewater discharges and air emissions in the environment.

Nathalie DROUIN,  Professor at UQAM, lawyer and Executive Director of KHEOPS, International Research Consortium on the Governance of Large Infrastructure Projects.

Frédéric LASSERRE, Professor at the Department of Geography, Université Laval and expert in shipping and logistics.

Brian Slack, Professor at the department of Geography, planning and environment at Concordia University and expert on maritime transport and intermodality.
